To shoot or not to shoot? When is it legal to shoot fireworks in Michigan?

Consumer are still having a hard time determining whether they are in compliance or not with the law in regards to the display of fireworks in Michigan. Recently a local news station broadcasted that fireworks are only legal to shoot on the day before, the day of, and the day after the 4th of July. The following article written back in 2011 when the law first passed explains how it is legal to display fireworks year round in Michigan. What the law did include however, was that local governments could not enact ordinances that would prohibit the display of fireworks the day before, the day of, or the day after a National Holiday. So what does that mean? Basically, throughout the state of Michigan on the day preceeding, the day of, and the day after a National Holiday you are free to display fireworks in Michigan. Any other day of the year, it is recommended that you check with your local government to find out whether they have enacted a ordinance that prevents the display of fireworks on other days of the year.

I hope this information and article are helpful to all of the those you enjoy a nice fireworks display in their own backyard.

Finale Pieces to Complete your backyard Fireworks Display

When putting together a fireworks display you want to have a variety of items such as artillery shells, aerial repeaters and rockets. It's always good to start small and finish big, giving your spectators that build-up to the finale. Creating that perfect finale can be done easily with any of our 2" or 3" Super finale pieces. BMF is a 2" Super Finale has 12 shots of hard breaking, massive red, white, and blue peonies firing out two at a time in a "V" formation. This piece will fill the sky. Our 3" Super Finale pieces include Liberty Salute, Pro 3, The Big Fluorescent, Triple Diamonds and Whacky Tobacky. Each piece has a different performace that takes your backyard show to the next level. Liberty Salute is a 9 shot, chest thumbing repeater with colored willows and an excellent, long-lasting strobe effect. Michigan Fireworks Company 2014 Tents

We are looking for someone to help run our South Lyon store May through August. This is a brick-and-mortar store not a tent. It would be four days a week including weekends. If you know someone who would be interested please contact us. Those with interest and knowledge of fireworks and what they do preferred but also willing to train.

What started out as a small backyard show eventually became an annual event, known to be better than the local municipality's display. Together Eric and Jessica have expanded their small backyard show to professional shows done to benefit local fire fighters and police and for not-for-profit events involving friends and family.
